Worst Person in the Congress?

By Mark Krikorian on August 6, 2008

How about replacing Olbermann's "Worst Person in the World" contest (which you'd think I would have won by now because of my book) with the "Worst Person in the Congress." I know there's a lot of competition, but my nomination for today would be Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (D-Ill.). This is what he said to Politico columnist Gebe Martinez in discussing his demand for a moratorium on immigration raids until an amnesty bill passes:

"You know who is in charge now? The Gestapo agents at [the Department of] Homeland Security. They are in charge."

What do you want to bet that Gutierrez is on the short list to head the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in an Obama Administration? He'd be even worse than Leonel Castillo, Carter's INS Commissioner.
