Can Amnesty Push Survive an Increase in Illegal Entries?

By Janice Kephart on February 1, 2013

The Washington Times is reporting that amidst the president's assurances that the border is secure enough for the country to pursue amnesty for 11 million or more illegal aliens, the number of border arrests is increasing. This should come as no surprise; I reported a surge in illegal crossings in Arizona, based on data gathered by a private organization using hidden cameras and other sources. I have more data - as yet unpublished - that the numbers continue to increase significantly.

If the president wanted such a surge, implementing the deferred action amnesty was a good start, and the announcement of a push for "comprehensive immigration reform" is like passing the baton to an even faster teammate in the immigration race for amnesty.
