Jamiel Shaw, Sr., the father of a young man murdered by an illegal alien gang member in Los Angeles in 2008, speaks directly to California Governor Jerry Brown in a poignant new video (see below). Shaw asks Brown to veto a bill passed by the state legislature that would force California law enforcement agencies to release tens of thousands of criminal aliens each year instead of transferring them over to ICE for possible removal.

Gov. Brown has until September 30 to sign the bill, veto it, or allow it to become law without his signature. If he approves the bill, it would be a major flip-flop. In 2009, when Brown was Attorney General, he was instrumental in undermining California's sanctuary jurisdictions by approving the state-wide implementation of ICE's Secure Communities program.
Mr. Shaw says that the governor will have blood on his hands if he does not veto the bill. He's right. There is no rational argument for shielding criminal aliens from deportation. Proponents insist that immigrants will stop trusting police if they help remove illegal alien criminals. This is a myth invented by illegal alien advocates to justify sanctuary policies. The truth is, as we know from experience, that sanctuary policies inevitably result in more tragedies.
