Welcome to the Center for Immigration Studies’ new website, which has several new features.
As you’ve already figured out, a primary feature is this blog. Here we will be posting comments from various CIS experts, links to immigration related articles, and any other information we wish to bring to you quickly.
Above, on the grey bar, we’ve added some new options. Again, you’ll notice a “Blog” link, which will take you to the main blog page. Also, there is an “Events” link. If you click on it, you will find a rolling list of immigration related events happening in DC and across the globe. This is very much like our events e-mail update, but will be updated more frequently. The “Donate” button was featured on our old website but now uses the Paypal service, which should be easier to use. Another updated feature is the “About Us” link. In it you will find biographies of CIS staff and fellows.
The publications can be browsed through in much the same way they have in the past. If you are researching a certain subject, try and find a fit in the “Topics” list on the green bar to the left. If you’re looking for the newest publication, it might be highlighted in the center of the homepage or simply check the “Publications” link on the grey bar. Also, our search function has been updated and can assist you in finding specific information. It is also located on the grey bar and you can enter a word or phrase in it from any page on the website.
If you browse our publications, you will find a new type: Videos. We have already begun producing our own web videos, the first starring Steven Camarota called, “Immigration: No Fix for an Aging Society.” Along with educational videos, we will also be recording some of our future events. The videos of events will be posted on the same page as the transcript of the event.
Please familiarize yourself with our new site, we hope it is helpful. If you have any questions or comments, about the site or immigration in general, simply click on the “Contact Us” link on the grey bar above and fill out the contact form.
