40 Million Illegal Aliens in 2038?

By David North on February 1, 2013

We have all been warned against making predictions about the future. But if the future reflects the past the figure below shows what could happen to the size of the illegal alien population in 2038, 25 years from now, if the current group of 11 million illegals becomes legalized under the Obama plan.

It is clear that the one-time legalization of three million illegal aliens by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) has led to the presence of 11 million illegal aliens today (25 years later). Were there to be a similar reaction to the Obama plan in the years to follow (and the "enforcement" provisions in the Obama plan are hardly daunting), we could have an illegal alien population of more than 40 million 25 years from now.

Straight-line projections over long periods of time, such as this one, are unlikely to produce precision, but the direction of the trend, and the massive numbers involved, are both likely to be correct.

Do we want our nation, and our children, to face such a prospect?
