Better immigration enforcement needs to be a part of any DACA deal. Kent Lundgren, co-founder and past chairman of the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers, explains how a successful plan must include:
- Border security (includes but is not limited to a wall);
- Cooperation between federal immigration authorities and local law enforcement in interior enforcement; and
- Employer sanctions, which must include mandatory e-verify, to weaken the magnet of jobs that attracts illegal immigration in the first place.
